In October 2006, IntelliScience Corporation launched Xaminit™; a web-based application and service designed for web search and information retrieval based on related information found during document content exploration. Xaminit™ is a fully operational web application. The significant terms identified by this version of Xaminit™ (and the subsequent results yielded by the search queries constructed with these terms) are based on broad analytical factors and are not targeted toward any specific industry or standard.

Xaminit™ was designed with expandability and configurability in mind. Industry-specific versions of Xaminit™ can easily be created to enhance the functionality. For example:

  • Analysis of terms could recognize and exclude certain frequently-used words specific to the industry (such as "plurality" or "embodiment" in USPTO documents) that would normally jump to the top of the significant terms list.
  • The analysis can be customized to raise the threshold on "noise" words to ensure that infrequently used words that still have industry weight will be recognized as a significant term. This will also be accomplished by maintaining an industry specific "library" of significant terms that Xaminit™ will recognize when found in a document.
  • Customized file parsers can be added to recognize additional attributes and characteristics of terms in a file that give them more weight.
  • Finally, in a global market and economy, many industries rely on information stored in multi-lingual formats around the world. Xaminit™ can be expanded to find significant terms in either English or non-English language documents and search the web for similar terms in a multitude of different languages.
